Types of Massage Therapy
Swedish Massage This is a relaxing full body massage that consists of long smooth gliding strokes used to relax the superficial layers of the muscles, along with friction, kneading and active and passive movements of the joints. This massage is usually an hour but can also be giving in 1/2 hour.
DEEP TISSUE - NMT (NEUROMUSCULAR MASSAGE THERAPY) This is a much deeper massage, unlike swedish which only deals with the superficial layer of the muscle. This massage focuses on the deeper layers of the muscle tissue. This is done by slow strokes and deep pressure with the thumbs and fingers and concentrated finger pressure to trigger points or areas in the muscle that are painful in order to break the pain spasm cycle. This massage is done to problem areas in the body where pain is present.
HOT STONE MASSAGE
Hot Stone massage therapy involves the use of heated stones placed on pressure points and chakra points on the body to bring relief to stiff and sore muscles. Heated stones are also placed in the therapists hands and applied to the body in a Swedish style to help melt tension and relax the muscles, while the massage strokes gently work out the knots in your body. The result is a profoundly relaxing and grounding massage. Hot Stone therapy is a very effective in creating harmony and positive energy flow, thus promoting a sense of balance energy and peace.
ON-SITE CHAIR MASSAGE This is a massage that is given in a specially designed chair while the client is clothed. On site chair massage's usually last between 10 and 20 min and are intended for relaxing and improving your circulation.They are a great introduction to someone that has never had a massage and for corporate events and parties.
MASSAGE PARTY This is a party where 4 to 8 people are usually invite (including the hostess) to get together and socialize and to enjoy a massage. Depending on how many attend will depend on if there is a need to have a second therapist so that either one or 2 at a time will receive a massage while the other guest get to socialize and enjoy the party. You will have a choice of seated chair massage or swedish and a half-hour to and hour massage for each person.
